Keep People and Their Homes Safe
Complementing PSEG’s safety vision, we seek to keep people and their homes safe, particularly around electricity and natural gas, and to prepare for and respond to emergencies.

Emergency Preparedness and Response
We cannot predict the next Superstorm Sandy, Hurricane Irene or emergency situation, but we do know that proactive strategies reduce our vulnerability to disasters like these. Working with Voluntary or Community Organizations Active in Disasters (V/COAD), the PSEG Foundation seeks to educate and prepare families, as well as strengthen the capacity of our emergency response organizations and staff.
Through our partnership with the American Red Cross, we are pre-investing in disaster relief so they can activate immediately and provide life-saving aid. This includes support for activities in advance of a disaster, including training volunteers, securing shelter locations, stocking warehouses and maintaining disaster-relief vehicles. To prepare your home for emergencies, visit the American Red Cross to see what your emergency kit should include.
We proudly supported the establishment of a statewide VOAD organization in New Jersey and seek to further strengthen its capacity to serve and assist counties and municipalities be prepared and available when need is greatest.
Currently operating as part of the NJ 211 as it seeks its own 501(c)3 status, the VOAD works with the American Red Cross, the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, the Salvation Army and others to complement government efforts through each county Office of Emergency Management.
Through a partnership with the Council of New Jersey Grantmakers and the Center for Disaster Philanthropy, we are joining with other funders to create a Playbook for Philanthropic Response When Disaster Hits, a repository of highly replicable critical work, best practices and strategies employed by funders nationwide in response to disasters.
Hospitals and Trauma Centers
Burn and trauma centers provide critical care when our employees and customers need it most. The PSEG Foundation supports burn and trauma centers throughout our service and operating territories in New Jersey, Connecticut and New York. In partnership with the hospitals, we develop and deliver certified trainings in burn and trauma safety education and prevention.
We proudly support the hospitals below.
Our dedicated employees remain our most important asset. We support those organizations that address the health challenges impacting our employees and their families and provide assistance when crisis strikes.
