Little Neighbors: Building a Better World Together
Sesame Workshop and the PSEG Foundation Launch New Little Neighbors Resources to Help Children and Families Build Strong, Caring Communities
On June 5, 2024 Sesame Workshop, the global nonprofit behind Sesame Street, launched new free, bilingual resources to help children learn the importance of being engaged with their community by helping others, working together, and being kind. These resources are made possible with generous support from the PSEG Foundation and join the current lineup of resources under the Little Neighbors: Building a Better World Together initiative to help young children and their families build a better world together. Through teamwork, little neighbors everywhere can tackle challenges big and small and take care of their families, communities, and the environment.
Little Neighbors: Building a Better World Together, new bilingual resources featuring beloved Sesame Street friends to support young children and their families in building happy, healthy futures for their neighborhoods and communities. Focusing on six core community values — safety, the environment, compassion, volunteerism, continuous self-improvement, and being a good neighbor — Little Neighbors aims to nurture children’s early understandings of community and encourage them to act with concern, respect, and kindness for others. The new bilingual resources, available to parents and providers.

PSEG and Sesame Workshop have partnered to create bilingual (English and Spanish), multiple media programs that help families prepare for, and respond to, emergencies and provide tools so that children can build the skills they need to become resilient. With Let’s Get Ready, families learn to plan and prepare together for emergencies through simple strategies and tips that can be incorporated into everyday routines. Here for Each Other provides tips, ideas, and activities that teach families effective and comforting ways to respond when an emergency occurs. Brave, Strong Resilient helps children build the self-confidence, problem-solving skills, and emotional tools they need to cope with adversity.
Our latest joint effort, Little Neighbors: Building a Better World Together, helps children learn the many ways to be a good neighbor and what it means to be a member of a community.
