Vice President and Controller
Rose M. Chernick
Rose M. Chernick is vice president and controller, Public Service Enterprise Group Inc. (PSEG), effective March 2019. As Controller, Ms. Chernick is responsible for all external and internal financial reporting, accounting research and policy development, income tax reporting and planning functions and related internal control processes.
Prior to this since 2015, Ms. Chernick served as vice president – Finance, Corporate Strategy and Planning, and Services within PSEG Services Corp. In this capacity, she was responsible for PSEG’s short- and long-term business plans, supporting the company’s growth strategy, and was the business partner to the company’s shared services organization accountable for financial planning and analysis.
Previously, Ms. Chernick served as vice president – Finance, Holdings and Corporate Planning and Analysis. From 2010 to 2013, Ms. Chernick served as vice president – Finance, PSE&G. In this role, she was the finance business partner to PSE&G responsible for financial planning, analysis and rates teams.
Ms. Chernick joined PSEG in 2004 as director – Financial Management Services. She served as enterprise assistant controller from 2008 to 2010. She also was responsible for directing and managing general accounting, Energy Holdings accounting and accounting systems functions within the Controller’s group.
Prior to joining PSEG, Ms. Chernick worked at NextEra Energy Resources (formerly FPL Energy) in a variety of accounting positions of increasing responsibility, culminating in the position of director of accounting. Prior to this, Ms. Chernick worked at Deloitte & Touche in their financial services and public utilities practice.
Ms. Chernick, a certified public accountant, holds bachelor’s degrees in finance and accounting and a master’s degree in accounting, all from Florida Atlantic University. Ms. Chernick is a 2007 YWCA Tribute to Women and Industry award honoree and also is a member of the board of trustees of the YMCA of Newark and Vicinity and serves as the finance committee chair.
